October 15 and 16 brought three streaming releases worth knowing about, and all three hit services you might already have.

Crystal Lake, the Friday the 13th prequel series, dropped all eight episodes on Peacock on Thursday, October 15. Linda Cardellini plays Pamela Voorhees—Jason's mother—before the lake turned red and the hockey mask became a legend. If you grew up on the original films and wanted to see how it all started, this one's built for you. The casting alone shows someone cared.

The Diplomat returns

The Diplomat season 4 hit Netflix the same day, all eight episodes at once. The political thriller continues its run of tense international crises, sharp writing and characters who talk like adults. If you liked the first three seasons, this one keeps the momentum. If you haven't started yet, check the parents' guide to see if it fits your house.

Sly's back

Tulsa King season 4 premiered on Paramount+ on Friday, October 16. Sylvester Stallone returns as the New York mobster exiled to Oklahoma, and the show's still leaning into the fish-out-of-water premise that made it work in the first place. Stallone's doing what he does best—playing a guy who refuses to quit—and the writing gives him room to do it. If you've been following since season one, you're already watching. If not, it's worth catching up on a service that doesn't cost much.

All three are available now. No theaters, no wait, no extra rentals. Just hit play and see if any of them stick. Crystal Lake gives you the origin story the franchise never told on screen, The Diplomat delivers another round of high-stakes diplomacy, and Tulsa King keeps Stallone in the saddle doing exactly what fans showed up for.
