GTA 6 on PC reportedly delayed until early 2027, months after console launch

Console players get Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19, 2026, when it arrives for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. PC players? You're looking at a longer wait, possibly into early 2027.

GamesBeat reports the PC version could land sometime in the first quarter of next year—January through March. Four industry sources familiar with Rockstar's roadmap shared that timeline anonymously.

Rockstar hasn't said anything official about a PC release. They're keeping quiet, which tracks with how they've handled past launches.

History suggests a pattern

Grand Theft Auto V hit consoles in September 2013. PC owners didn't see it until April 2015, a gap of about 19 months. If this new report holds up, GTA 6 would follow a tighter but similar schedule, arriving on PC roughly three to four months after the console debut.

The logic is straightforward: sell to the console crowd first, then release on PC when that wave settles. It's a double-dip strategy that works, even if it annoys players who want to jump in day one on their preferred platform.

What to expect

If you've got a current-gen console and you're eager to play, November 2026 is your date. If you're holding out for PC, start planning for a wait that stretches into spring of the following year.

The upside: PC versions from Rockstar usually come with better visuals, higher frame rates and mod support. The downside: you'll spend months dodging spoilers while everyone else explores Vice City.

None of this is confirmed yet. Rockstar could always launch everywhere at once, but past behavior and these sources point the other direction. Plan accordingly and keep your expectations in check.
