Hasbro did its usual pre-show reveal on October 7, right before New York Comic Con ran October 8 through 11 at the Javits Center. Hasbro said the batch had 14 new figures, though the list it put out actually had 15. Somebody in marketing needs a calculator.

The Street Fighter figures and the X-Men '97 Marvel Legends will get plenty of attention elsewhere. For anyone who grew up on Saturday morning G.I. Joe and the first live-action Transformers movie, these are the ones that matter.

One thing up front: Hasbro's announcement didn't include prices or release dates for most of these. If you see a number elsewhere, check where it came from.

G.I. Joe: meet Flatline

The G.I. Joe entry is Classified Series #232 Dreadnok Flatline. If you liked the Dreadnoks as the scuzzy biker gang that made Cobra look organized, Flatline fits right in. Going by his gear, he's the gang's idea of a field medic, which should worry everyone:

  • A hood and a backpack generator with a power cord
  • A bone saw nicknamed the "Chin Chopper"
  • A defibrillator hammer called "The Clinker"
  • A medical textbook, because even a lunatic needs a reference
  • An extra weapon

Flickering Myth reports preorders open today, October 13, with the figure due in early 2027. So this is a "lock it in now, forget about it until spring" purchase.

Transformers: the 2007 movie team fills out

Studio Series keeps working through Michael Bay's first Transformers movie. The new wave includes a Deluxe Class Autobot Jazz and Voyager Class Ironhide and Ratchet. Put those next to the Optimus and Bumblebee figures already out there and you're most of the way to the original movie Autobot squad.

Jazz is the interesting one for longtime fans. His fate in that film is still a sore spot for a lot of G1 kids, so getting a proper figure is a nice gesture.

Age of the Primes adds Onyx Prime

The Age of the Primes line gets a few new pieces:

  • Voyager Class Guzzle
  • Voyager Class Cybershark
  • A Leader Class release pairing Onyx Prime, one of the Thirteen original Primes, with Starscream

Age of the Primes leans hard on the Thirteen Primes mythology that grew out of the comics and later stories. If that lore is your thing, Onyx Prime is the centerpiece here. If you just want Starscream on your shelf, there's that too.

Everything else

Hasbro's announcement also covered five Street Fighter figures, including Guile, M. Bison, Dark Ryu and a Deluxe Blanka, and two Marvel Legends from X-Men '97: Bolivar Trask and Bastion Nimrod. Hasbro also set up a G.I. Joe and Transformers display at a partner booth on the show floor, and ran an action brands panel on Sunday.

The bottom line

If your shelf is mostly Classified or Studio Series, this was a good week. Just know that Flatline isn't arriving until 2027 and Hasbro hasn't put dates on the rest yet. If you want something to open this year, browse the Dreadnoks already on shelves while you wait.
